Cancer Conditions Treated by STAR

Cancer treatments are primarily based on organ and location which are affected over a period of time. Our team would evaluate the origin of cancer cells, it’s progression rate and the type of cancer to proceed with any treatment. Our specialized multidisciplinary teams treat all type of cancer conditions which primarily chain from the below mentioned conditions:

Carcinoma: This is a cancer type that is resulting from epithelial cells. It comprises many common cancers forming in the breast, prostate, lung, liver, pancreas and colon.

Lymphoma and leukaemia: These are cancers that affect the blood and children are usually victims of blood cancer.

Sarcoma: These are cancers rising from connective tissue (i.e., bone, cartilage, fat, nerve), each of which grows from cells originating outside the bone marrow.

Germ cell tumours: These are cancers which are derived from the reproductive cells i.e., sperm and ovum, most often affecting the testis or ovary.

Blastomas: This type of cancer is usually formed from immature cells or embryonic tissue. They are most common in children.

Symptoms of Cancer

Cancer can be detected from many symptoms, and these symptoms surface most often after an illness, injury, or on spotting a benign tumour. Do get in touch with our specialists, if your symptoms do not get better after a few weeks. We will conduct an overall evaluation of your health to diagnose and treat it at the earliest. Causes and Treatment of Cancer

STAR Hospital offers many procedures and drugs to treat cancer, with many more being studied by our specialists. We offer solutions like surgery and radiation therapy, to treat a specific area of the body or tumour. We also have systemic treatments such as drug treatments for chemotherapy and targeted therapy aiming at the overall body recovery. Below are the treatments available in our hospital.

  • Surgery: We suggest this treatment when the tumour is contained in a particular area and hardens there. It is one of the local forms of treatment and is used in areas such as breast, colon, pancreas, oesophagus, head and neck.
  • Chemotherapy: This is a treatment procedure in which powerful drugs are used to kill fast growing cancerous cells in your body. They can be a single treatment or a part of a major cancer treatment as well.
  • Radiation Therapy: We use high-energy waves, like x-rays, electron beams, or protons, to destroy or damage cancer cells. While chemotherapy is usually oral or injected to work on your entire body, radiation is used in a particular part of the body.
  • Stem Cell or Bone Marrow Transplant: In this process healthy stem cells are transferred to your body to replace all the damaged stem cells. We provide these transplant and cell therapy services for adults and children.
